| Jackson's Garage is geared toward
unique automotive enthusiasts. As the sole proprietor, I specialize in
automotive oddities such as the Chevrolet Corvair, Triumph Spitfire,
and rotary powered Mazdas. I can handle routine maintenance, repair,
modifications, collision and rust repair, plus refinishing and custom
paint. This company is a side project for me and that is likely the way
it will stay. My objective is to provide customers with unique and
reliable vehicles in which they may take pride. |

My Electric Vehicle Project |
I
have started an electric car project. This car will start life as a
production model passenger car. It's internal combustion engine will be
removed in favor of an 11 kW three-phase electric motor. My goals for
this car are a 50 mile range, a 60mph cruising speed, seating for 4,
room for luggage, heat, air conditioning, etc. Basically everything a
person would ever need in a commuter car. |

Mike's car (left) started as a stock convertible but has now received
an Rx7 turbo motor and drive train. This car is still street and
emissions legal. It will also serve as a sort of rolling office with a
power inverter and power strip for a lap top computer, cell phone and
other electronic devices. Tommy's car (right) started as a relatively stock 93 Rx7 with some mechanical problems. The transmission was bad, the engine had been rebuilt poorly, and many of the components in the engine bay were not set up properly. In addition to having the transmission rebuilt, Tommy decided to have an extremely high performance single turbo engine from AZ Rotary Rockets (AZRR) installed with their "Big Kahuna" kit. The car has left my garage and is currently awaiting tuning. When the car is tuned and completely sorted, it should be a real screamer! |

My 62 Corvair Rampside (left) is a work in progress... to say the least
:) I actually inherited this truck, along with a 61 Corvair Van, from
my dad in late 2003. It had been his since before I was born. When I
started work on it, it had been sitting for about 20 years. Today it is
running and driving but still needs a few mechanical details attended
to. The biggest hurdle right now is getting collectors insurance. The
truck needs to look like it's in show quality before it can be insured
as a collector, so I still have quite a bit of body work to do. James' 06 Maxima (right) needed to have its bumper repair. Unlike many of the cars I work on, this did not require any modification or fabrication, and the car is virtually brand new, so none of the fasteners were difficult to deal with either. What a nice change of pace. |
